Over Optimization And Google
If SEO is something you rely on primarily for your website’s traffic, then I’m sure you’ve probably been hearing about Google’s latest algorithm update. Yes, Google is at it again. Over optimization……….really?
Matt Cutts over at Google stated that Google would be specifically going after websites that are pushing the envelope when it comes to SEO. I tell you, sometimes it just pays to not focus entirely on SEO because you never know what Google is going to throw at you. So what exactly would be going over board with SEO?
Probably many are asking this question but unless you are a big name working over at Google and their plans regarding this issue, the details will more than likely go unknown. Many SEO pros have good knowledge when it comes to what constitute good SEO, great content and exactly what spam is. Spammy content is generally made up of keyword stuffing and using CSS and sneaky little tricks to hide text.
All this is being targeted by Google. Actually, Google hit many sites like this with the Panda update back in 2011. If you are strictly white hat when it comes to SEO, you really don’t have much to worry about. But in being a reasonable website owner, you can not be expected to please Google in everything. No matter how fair you play by the rules.
The main issue is that over use of keywords is coming to a fast end if you are using this strategy. Good content is all Google is concerned about and they will do whatever they need to in order to weed out low quality websites. Don’t believe that the sites with good authority content won’t be penalized also, Google states that they want to simply level the playing field for those in the quest for better search engine placement.
Many are asking if this update for google is already in effect. While I don’t consider myself an SEO expert, I do recognize when my sites take a plunge in the rankings and many times don’t know why this is happening. Many companies have already seen sudden drops in rankings that they can’t clearly explain.
As far as Google just coming out and saying they’ve implemented another algorithm change, is like trying to guess the end of the world. Something has obviously happened when the large companies start crying about a sudden plunge in their sites for no obvious reason. Even worse when you’ve paid thousands for SEO services.
Google will keep many guessing, but we all know that these large companies that can afford to pay thousands for SEO services have secrets that are reasons for their success. So what exactly should you do regarding SEO Basically, don’t overdo with SEO. If you think you are overdoing it with SEO, there’s a good chance you are and Google will let you know eventually with a nice plunge in rankings.
It’s not the end of organic rankings, just more the beginning of rankings achieved through a mixture of SEO and good content. It probably will mean some minor tweaks to some SEO pros and marketers, but those that focus on quality content don’t have much to be concerned about. When a visitor comes to your site, they are usually looking for quality content
Good marketing and SEO are important for long term traffic, but marketing and SEO can’t be a replacement for authority content. Sites with good rankings achieved through over optimization and poor content are already seeing a decline in traffic and high bouce rates.
If you are using a company for SEO sevices or doing it yourself, it would be well advised to evaluate some new strategies. Lets face it, SEO can take time to achieve desired results while keeping Google happy at the same time. The bottom line is good content wins out every time and as long as you are providing good content, as least you will be in step with Google.
Tips For Online Success
Hi, I know it’s been awhile from my last post. Been involved in some different endeavors offline. I want this post to help those who are determined to making their online business a success and how to avoid being ripped off. I’m sure many of you are tired of investing money into your online business than you are making……right?
It should not be this way and I wanted to share this blueprint for avoiding certain pitfalls that many of us face especially when starting out.
You first need to stop looking for magic, money making pills.
can’t emphasis this enough. A great deal of your success depends on your very approach and attitude right out of the starting blocks. I know this is something you might not be what you want to hear, but you must have a ready to work attitude
if you want to succeed beyond your wildest dreams online.
If you’re seeking so-called overnight riches as so many are, then unfortunately you’ll be looking in all the wrong places and will only end up getting burned!
There are plenty of sellers that are sadly perfectly willing to promise you those instant riches. But trust me, as somebody that
has made plenty of these same mistakes starting out, there is no such thing. Businesses are built, not born overnight.
This is what you should do
Seek out opportunities (products, services, etc.) with the intent to roll up your sleeves and build a real online business. Not overnight riches. I’m by no means saying that you can’t eventually get to a point where much of your online business can be set on autopilot, to where you can really coast and have true financial freedom, but what I’m saying is that it takes an honest
effort to get to that point.
Next
Make sure that any product or service you’re considering offers a money back guarantee. Common sense right?
That way, if all else fails, you can always fall back on exercising the option to refund. Therefore, you really can’t lose, provided
you do not procrastinate, or forget about your purchase. But at the same time, don’t take advantage of the ability to refund. In other words, if you are not committed to fully putting a product or service to the test, don’t buy it.
The idea is to diligently make a sincere effort to utilize what you’ve purchased, and if it doesn’t work out as you’d hoped, certainly then you can request a refund. I have both buyers and sellers in mind on this point. Both can be ripped off by the other. So as a seller, keep the buyer in mind by offering and honoring a money back guarantee.
And as a buyer, keep the seller in mind, by not going into a purchase with the mindset that you can just check it out briefly, only to turn around and refund if it’s not exactly what you’d hoped. Instead, follow due diligence by learning all you can about a product before purchasing, and then commit yourself to using the product to the best of your ability before ever deciding to refund.
Be skeptical, but not too skeptical!
Had I been “overly skeptical” when starting out online years ago, I would have essentially been ripping myself off, by not pursuing an online business at all. I had to trust that there was an honest income to be made online. And of course, common sense tells us that online business is really no different than any other business, aside from that business is done over a digital medium instead of mail order, or a brick and mortar store.
On the other hand, don’t start throwing your money around at offers like it’s going out of style. There is a lot of hype online – lots of offers that are designed to spark your emotions, with the end goal of separating you from your hard earned money! What you want to look for is REAL PROOF and evidence that the seller can deliver on the benefit they’re offering. If you can’t get sufficient evidence from the sales letter itself, you can turn to forums, or literally following up with customers who’ve left testomonials about the offer. Make sure the reviews and feedback you consider are not biased, vs. affiliates looking to make a sale off of you.
At the same time, make sure you’re not listening to haters who spend time ripping on successful people online, because they are not successful themselves (yes, sadly there are those types). They are doing you a disservice by potentially steering you away from the very product that could lead you to real success. So there is a definite balance to look for.
The bottom line, look for reviews from people who’ve actually purchased the product, and who have been diligent about putting it to use, instead of those who bought with the unrealistic hope of getting rich overnight.
If you follow these simple steps you will have a much better chance of By following these simple tips, you have guidelines for making profitable investments online that will lead to your financial success.
Content Marketing For Sales
For online marketers, content marketing has become an invaluable asset.
Content marketing can be a big asset or resource if you are willing to put in the work. It can be time consuming if you are doing the work, but if you like to write, you’ll be right at home with this type of marketing. Most of us who work in sales only care about taking actions that can be directly tied in to making sales. The point of content marketing is to promote products without actually selling them. A big reason content marketing is that most consumers have access to an unlimited supply of information that wasn’t available a decades ago. The average consumer is out there everyday looking for information. They need someone to give them this information. Shouldn’t you supply them with it? Lets look at some reasons content marketing can be invaluable when it comes to sales.
The versatility of Content Marketing
To me, there is no type of marketing that is more versatile than content marketing. You can generate leads, warm up cold leads, turn your leads into legitimate buyers, and even close deals. Of course, every step of the process will require a different type of content, it all works together to push your marketing leads in the same direction. Having good content is important to maintain all of the relationships that you build, which means more repeat buyers. A few decades ago, could anyone in sales imagine closing deals worth thousands of dollars without ever directly talking to the customer? With content marketing, it happens every day. For example, you can go online and find effective content marketing strategies being used to sell heavy machinery, bleachers, diamonds, and even cars. The great thing about it also. You don’t need to invest money if you apply yourself and put in the work.
An Online Must-Have
These days you can’t create an online presence without some type of content marketing strategy. What kind of website would you have without any info graphics, videos, case studies, etc ? Even product reviews have become a popular feature of some content marketing strategies.
Educating The Consumer
Again, product reviews also fall in this category, but in addition, content marketing will educate your customers and future customers on auto-pilot. When you share information and educate your customers they begin to trust you more than someone who is only pushing sales in front of their faces. Consumers buy solutions not products. With a good content marketing strategy, you can show them the solution they want and they will buy any product attached to it after effectively developing a trust with them.
It’s A Give And Take Relationship
Building a list has become the usual thing to do for many marketers online and potential customers are not willing to just hand out their information to anyone. Fortunately, for a simple report, white paper, or ebook many are happy to share. You should also consider that thinking outside the box on building your list would be most beneficial to you because of this common practice among marketers. It’s good to stand out from everyone when they are using the same methods of gathering leads. If you can capture a consumer’s attention and give them what they want, they will gladly give you their email in exchange.
A brief recap on why content marketing can increase sales: It makes selling easier. When you can give prospective customers free informative content that’s beneficial to them, they usually remember you for it. You can provide information to them without being annoying or pushy. Developing trust and solving issues through content marketing is something that’s not difficult, requires no investing and could easily get you your first sale if you’re just starting
out.
It is not about interruption marketing anymore. Watch this clip to see how experts like Joe Pulizzi and Chris Baggott answer the question, “what is content marketing?”
